A Final Thought
There’s a difference between a good person and a good character; and a good character isn’t always a good person. Sometimes even characters that are “good people” do bad things. Many fans acknowledge these points, saying that liking a character doesn’t necessarily mean you support their actions.
Like I said earlier, I might not like Tony Soprano, but I recognize that he is an incredible character. And while I loved Dexter Morgan, I also recognize that he’s a serial killer and no matter how much I wanted to see him get a happy ending I knew he wouldn’t.
As it turns out, most anti-heroes don’t get happy endings.
